Cover Art Thoughts
The novel’s cover uses pink flowers which have long green stems and leaves. In the background there is a distressed maroon color, and a predominant creme color that includes the title and author. The art cover shows topics regarding innocence, purity, faith, hope, and virginity. The tones the novel’s cover demonstrates are tones of a calming nature. They involve a peaceful transition. Elizabeth thought that on the cover, the card-like image is similar to how a card would be on a bouquet of flowers. The reason why the title isn’t capitalized is because there is a lack of maturity says Brenda. Evelyn thinks that the flowers might represent the main character-a woman-and her growth like a flower, which ties into how the author’s name is capitalized, but not the title (maturity). Lastly, Cynthia thinks that the distressed maroon color in the background might represent how sometimes there are things that aren’t clear in the story, but overall can be understood of how they got like they did. Also, she thinks that the different lengths of the leaves on the flowers might represent how some journeys are short and other long.

Very insightful thoughts on the cover art as it relates to the overall meaning of the story. Nice work, ladies!
